Two Milestones for TVCUC—TAP
The Technology Access Program (TAP), the community outreach program of the Tellico Village Computer Users
Club, has reached two milestones recently. In 2012, for the first time in the program’s history, TAP added more
than 1,000 children to the list of those who received the benefits of in-home technology.
TAP also recently celebrated the donation of the 2,000th computer since its inception in 2007—with the first distribution in June 2007. Since that time the level of involvement has increased exponentially.
Villagers have come together to provide support to TAP through volunteering, financing, and donating computers
and peripheral equipment for refurbishing. This volunteer group has approximately 20 individuals encompassing
all levels of expertise—from newbie to guru—and is chaired by Warren Sanders and Vince Alline.
