President's Notes
by Jim Peterson

First, let me say that I thank you for being members of the Tellico Village Computer Users Club.  As your President, I, like you, am looking forward to a great year.

The year has started out "great" with the purchase of 10 new Dell Laptop's for our soon to be available Learning Center.  Just this past week your board had a meeting with the POA, discussing cleaning of the room and what they need to do to get it ready for our new learning experience.  The classroom will be a new challenge for your club but also exciting, filled with possibilities.  We are going to need more volunteers to make this program successful so begin considering now how you can help others make better use of their computers.

The  second exciting item, thanks to some dedicated geeks who should make you proud to be a member of this club, is the computer transfer program that is providing needy people in our community with previously used, recycled, computers at no cost to aid in their learning experience. We are excited to see the work being done here.

I urge you to get involved and help make our club even more valuable to the residents of Tellico Village and Loudon County.

Technology Access Program
By Warren Sanders

The purpose of this article is to update the club members regarding the Technology Access Program (formerly the 'Give-Away' program) and the garage sales.  Most of you know that the Community Church Spring sale was cancelled.

We have gotten permission from the Community Church Crafters and the Community Church to piggy-back on the Crafters' Craft and Bake Sale, which is being held on March 15.  We will set up the Win2000 and XP systems that we have ready and offer them to the public.

Vince Alline and Dennis Malcolm have agreed to manage this operation, but they will need some help.  The schedule is to move the systems to the Christian Life Center on Friday, March 14th, for the sale which is on Saturday, March 15 from 9 - 12.  It looks like we will have 8 or so systems to sell.  If you can help Vince and Dennis with the moving/set-up on Friday and/or the sale on Saturday, please contact Vince at (865) 824-3380 or at vinceal@gmail.com.   Your assistance will be much appreciated, and it is important that we generate some revenue for TAP.

Want to know more about what is happening in Tellico Village and know it sooner?  Bob Kutschera recently introduced to me a way to do that.

It is the village Tell-E-Gram.  If you are not currently receiving these twice weekly messages from POA, send a e-mail to Patty Robichaud at probichaud@tvpoa.org.

The email will come from TVPOA@mail.tellicovillage.org.  It is suggested that you put Patty's email address in your address book to avoid spam rejections.

The Tell-E-Gram arrives in your email twice a week (or as needed for emergency situations) and contains current and pertinent information for Tellico Village residents.

With a great picture I could not use here, Jim Noonan of our camera SIG recently reminded me why we should carry our cameras more often.  But I also got this picture from a friend which also gave me the same message.

Not one, but two!  Truly amazing!  These animals were photographed just north of the Wisconsin border on a highway near Marenisco, MI.

Once in a while we have an opportunity to take in a piece of nature that you may never see again.  What beauty we have in our world and how blessed we are!  In these days of unrest and turmoil, it is great to be reminded of this by such an unusual picture.

The odds of two albino moose is astronomical.  Having two born this close together raises the odds and being able to take the picture is even more rare.  Enjoy and keep your camera ready!

Allow me to remind you again of the change in Daylight Saving. Don't forget or when you get to church it will be time for lunch.

As I write this note my robins have returned to my yard to feast on East Tennessee worms.  That is a good sign and I hope you will join me in the yard, or on the links and enjoying all that Tellico Village has to offer us this month!
