We hope that all of you are enjoying the Summer Months.
With the first half of the year behind us we now need to look ahead, not just to the next few warm months, but to the next year.
We are looking for you to help continue the great work The Club does for our members and community by our joining our enthusiastic group of Volunteers that make this all possible.
We know that some of you are hesitant about helping, thinking that you have to be some kind of “computer nerd,” but that is so far from true. All you need is a desire to feel good about helping make things better for others. The simple skills learned in the day-to-day work life prepared you well to serve on the TVCUC board of directors in nearly any capacity.
For example: We all used Microsoft Word to write things like letters and learned how to save those–that is what our Secretary does–basic Office skills. Make variations of Forms and make schedules–that is what our TellicoLife Admin does. Plan a party–that is what our Picnic Chair does.
There are a couple of positions that take a little more “computer-related understanding” to help maintain the online records and Club information centers. And, obviously, FLS volunteers needs to have an understanding of how computers connect to things and how to install and run some programs. Just a desire to learn is needed for us to teach you these basic proficiencies, and we can provide all the support you need to succeed.
No need for anyone to know how to code or replace parts.
The biggest thing anyone needs is: Wanting to help a Club that is made to help others.
Think of how good it feels to help someone. In our case a whole bunch of “someones.”
Volunteer to help us, help others. You only need enthusiasm.
It is reminiscent of what one of our youngest Presidents called for so many years ago.
